Transfer
Students
For
policies and procedures for transferring credits to Elizabethtown,
check the Transfer
Credit Information menu on the Registration and Records
website. Here you will find information
on AP, CLEP and international credits, residency requirements,
core structure, and transfer student FAQ's.
Also check
the Admissions
website under Transfer Students for detailed information on
the admissions process, to download an admissions form, or to
apply
online.
The Academic
Advising Office can come into play at any time
during or after the application process. We can talk to you
about available majors and programs and refer you to departmental
faculty members. After you have matriculated, we will help you
create a schedule.
Transfer
students challenge all colleges, because of their varying backgrounds,
experiences, and expectations. Please
help us help you make your decision to come here a positive
one, by paying attention to the following:
- The
Admissions Office states that transfer applications
generally are not processed after December 1 for spring or
June 1 for fall admission. This policy addresses
the fact that many faculty and some staff are absent for winter
break and summer vacation. Be sensitive to these dates so
that your expectations for scheduling do not make transferring
a frustrating experience.
- If
you know your major,
meet with faculty representatives from the major early in
the admissions process. You should be able to plot the remaining
semesters to graduation with confidence that you can meet
your goals. While all transfer students ought to meet with
a departmental representative, honors
program students and occupational
therapy, allied
health, international
business, and music
majors are required to meet with the appropriate
college department during the admissions process.
- If
you are still deciding on a major,
Academic Advising is a good place to begin. We will help you
develop a plan consistent with your needs and, where applicable,
put you in touch with other offices and resources here in
the Center for Student Success.
There
often are some special challenges starting up new
in a setting where the
majority of your classmates are already established and acclimated.
Be sure to take advantage of the resources and opportunities
for involvement to which you are entitled. We hope you will
make good use of this office and your
transfer peer mentors
while you are transitioning to your new college home!
