Note: The settlement and district numbers are accurate as of July 2007. The population numbers (adults and children) are an estimate calculated by using an average of 135 people per church district. The actual number of people per church district varies by region, community, and affiliation. In general, 135 is a conservative average; the actual average may vary from 120 to 170. The data in these tables include all Amish groups (Old Order and New Order) that use horse-and-buggy transportation. Car-driving groups such as Beachy Amish and Amish Mennonites are not included.
