The Department of Business at Elizabethtown College cordially invites you to the Stiglitz Lecture.
This lecture combines two of Elizabethtown’s most celebrated lecture series, The Rev. Dr. Frank S. Carper Lecture on Ethics, Business and Society and the John F. Chubb Lecture on Business, Public Policy and World Affairs, which separately honor the legacies of the Rev. Dr. Frank S. Carper ’13 and John F. Chubb ’61.
Joseph Stiglitz won the Nobel Prize in economics in 2007. Currently a professor at Columbia University, Stiglitz has served on the Council of Economic Advisers for President Bill Clinton. In 1997-2000, he served as the Chief Economist and Senior Vice-President of the World Bank, and in 2008, he was appointed by French President Nicolas Sarkozy to chair a Commission on the Measurement of Economic Performance and Economic Progress. Stiglitz has written several books, including notably, Globalization and Its Discontents, which has been translated into 35 languages. For more information, go to www.josephstiglitz.com.
