Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program The VITA Program offers free basic tax return preparation to low- to moderate-income (generally, $49,000 and below) people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Elizabethtown College offers this service at the VITA site in the James B. Hoover Center for Business. The tax returns are prepared by Accounting major students and reviewed by the Director of the Accounting Program for accuracy. They are limited to about 120 clients and an appointment is necessary. Appointments can be made by calling 717-361-1270. Appointments are made on a first come, first serve basis. The VITA program at Elizabethtown College was featured in the February 9, 2011 issue of the Elizabethtown-Mount Joy Merchandiser.
