THE UNITED NATIONS PROGRAM
Here's your chance to spend 2 weeks at the
United Nations in New York City!
The UN Seminar takes students to the United Nations Headquarters on
a two-week study tour aimed at learning more about the multilateral
organization and its role in promoting development. The group attends
briefings by UN officials on contemporary economic, political and social
issues facing the world.
The intensive two-week experience in the summer will provide students
a close look at the workings of the United Nations and permit them,
through the sessions at the UN and the Permanent Missions, to learn
a great deal about sundry global issues, and the approaches adopted
by particular countries and the UN in dealing with them.
A highlight of the program is its collaborative nature: Students from
Etown join college students from Wisconsin and the Netherlands. The
entire group, including the faculty, stays at the Vanderbilt YMCA in
Manhattan, a stone's throw from the UN Headquarters.

About
the Program
From the
UN Chronicle
"These briefings have always provided
ample opportunity for dialogue between students and Secretariat personnel.
Rich in substance, they bring to life the materials that the students
have already read and discussed as a group...."
