NSSE surveys the extent of students' involvement in activities linked by research studies to desirable college outcomes. Results reflect, not only on the students themselves, but also on the extent to which their schools encourage and facilitate such experiences.

More than 660,000 first-year and senior students from 538 participating four-year colleges and universities participated in the NSSE 2005 survey administration. Elizabethtown College had a strong 64% response rate, compared to its 50% rate in 2002, and an average rate of 37% among all participating institutions.
