Citing Print Sources - APA Style
General guidelines
Your entries should be double spaced within and between citations. Put them in alphabetical order by author's last name, or if no author is listed, lead off with the title. Use hanging indents. The following are sample entries for some common kinds of print sources.
Journal articles, paginated by issue (each issue begins with page 1)
Author. (year). Title of article. Periodical title, volume (issue number), pages.
Goodheart, A. (2005). Tea and fantasy. The American Scholar, 74 (4), 21-34.
Journal articles, continuous pagination throughout a particular volume, three to six authors
Authors. (year). Title of article. Periodical title volume, pages.
Weeder, J.A., Marshall, A.R., & Epifanio, J.M. (2005). An assessment of population
genetic variation in chinook salmon from seven Michigan rivers 30 years after
introduction. North American Journal of Fisheries Management 25, 861-875.
Articles in a magazine
Author. (date). Title of article. Magazine title, volume, pages.
Darman, J. (2005, November 14). The wages of war. Newsweek, 152, 37.
Daily newspaper article
Author. (date). Title of article. Name of newspaper, pages.
Graham, J. (2005, November 10). Some Sony's CD's piracy protection called spyware.
USA Today, p. B1.
Book, one author or editor
Author/editor. (year). Title. Place of publication: Publisher.
Shreve, Anita. (2004). Light on snow. New York: Little, Brown and Company.
Book, two authors or editors

Essay or chapter in a collection or anthology
