General guidelines
This guide is based on the most recent MLA Style Manual, 3rd Edition. Examples in Keys for Writers are based on the MLA Style Manual, 2nd Edition. For questions about which version to use, please consult with your professor.
Your entries should be double spaced within and between citations. Put them in alphabetical order by author's last name, or if no author is listed, lead off with the title. Use hanging indents.
The following are sample entries for some common types of electronic sources.
Journal, periodical, or newspaper article from an online database such as Business
