Physics and Engineering alumni/ae who came to the department area: 3:00 PM – 4:45PM  (WE WERE SO ENGROSSED IN DISCUSSION WITH EACH OTHER THAT WE INADVERTENTLY MISSED PROVOST MCALLISTER’S PRESENTATION ON THE SCIENCE/MATH/ENGINEERING CENTER (SMEC).  WE DID HOWEVER DISCUSS THE SMEC.

Eight years at McDonnell St Louis; Director of Research General Dynamics (F-16); Deputy Chief Scientist NASA, the to government service in 1985:  US Army Research Office. Chief of Mobility Technology.  In charge of various Army-wide R&D.  two daughters, first born in 1980 (just before Frank’s 40th b’day). 

 

Woody Kerkeslager ’62 Egr, ’63 (?) PSU EE (ranked 1st in class), MBA U Chicago.  Long illustrious career with

ATT Bell Labs; managed the interconnections with MCI/Sprint; toward end of career very involved with Congress on international trade issues.  Retired in '‘8 and partnering with wife Ruth (retired ATT VP Strategy) in consulting with universities on technology.
