MILLERSVILLE USES 21-HIT ATTACK TO SUBDUE BLUE JAYS, 16-3

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Torry Bomberger went 5-for-5 with four runs scored and Jason Duing struck out nine over seven innings to lead Millersville past Elizabethtown, 16-3, in non-league action on Monday.

Brad Karli and Nolan Cassell each collected a pair of base hits for the Blue Jays, who fell to 13-4.  Etown's Kiah Sheppard, the current Middle Atlantic Conference player of the week, drove in a pair of runs with a first-inning double.

Leading 3-2, the nationally-ranked Marauders (15-2) broke open the game with a seven-run outburst in the fourth inning.  Millersville sent 11 batters to the plate and lashed five consecutive RBI singles with two outs to take a 10-2 edge.

The Marauders opened the scoring with one run in the top of the first inning, but the Blue Jays responded in their half of the frame.  With one out, Karli singled and stole second ahead of a walk to Scott Weigle.  Following a strikeout, Sheppard, who has ten hits in his last 15 at-bats, doubled down the left field line to plate Karli and Weigle and give Etown a 2-1 lead.

The Blue Jays returns to action on Tuesday, March 30 at Dickinson College.  Game time is 3 p.m.
