DELAWARE VALLEY HANGS ON TO STOP ETOWN, 6-5; BLUE JAYS AND AGGIES COMBINE FOR FIVE HOME RUNS

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. --- Jason Williams went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and two RBI as Delaware Valley built an early lead and held on to defeat Elizabethtown, 6-5, in Middle Atlantic Conference non-league action on Tuesday.  With the loss, the Blue Jays fell to 16-6.

Brad Karli (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest), Scott Weigle and Pete Gonzalez all homered for Etown, which suffered its first two-game losing streak of the season.  Chris Turtell also went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the losing effort.

Trailing 6-0, Weigle led off the seventh inning with a solo home run and Gonzalez hammered a two-run blast -- the first of his collegiate career -- with Nolan Cassell on first and two outs to pull the Blue Jays within 6-3.

In the eighth inning, Turtell singled with one out and Karli blasted his first home run of the season to make it a one-run game.  Aggie reliever John Schilling closed the door in the ninth to preserve the win.

Etown, currently ranked fifth in the Mid-Atlantic region, returns to action on Thursday, April 15 at York College.  Game time is 3:30 p.m.
