Lebanon Valley Comes from Behind to Defeat Etown, 7-6, in Commonwealth Opener

ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Lebanon Valley capitalized on a three-run performance in the bottom of the ninth inning to take a 7-6 victory over Elizabethtown in the teams' Commonwealth Conference opener in Annville Thursday.

Due to a change in the way Commonwealth Conference schedules its season, teams now play three games against each other, one nine inning game at one site and one doubleheader of two seven inning games at the other site, in the course of a week. In previous years, conference opponents would face each other for just one doubleheader of seven-inning games at one location.

Elizabethtown (2-9) will return to action Friday, March 15 on the road against NCAA Division II West Chester, in the make-up of a rained out game Wednesday, and the Blue Jays will host Lebanon Valley Saturday, March 16. The doubleheader is Elizabethtown's first home games of the season, and game time Saturday is 1:00 p.m.
