Elizabethtown Splits Doubleheader with Eastern in Ft. Pierce, Fla.

FT. PIERCE, Fla. --- Elizabethtown split a doubleheader with Eastern (Pa.) in Ft. Pierce, Fla., Tuesday. The Blue Jays are now 1-2 overall after falling to Eastern 3-2 in the first game and defeating Eastern 8-6 in the second game.

In the first game, Adam Rebert (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) pitched seven innings, allowing just two earned runs and striking out four. Jon Weitz (Marlboro, NJ/Marlboro) got the loss in relief. Jon Kalejta (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) batted one-for three, Weitz went one-for-four with an RBI at the plate, and Eric Wetzel (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg) went one-for-one with an RBI.

In the second game, Jon Chwirut (Rockville, MD/Heights) got the win on the mound after going five innings, allowing four hits, four runs and two earned runs, and striking out two. Mike Nocar (Lambertville, NJ/South Hunderton) got the save. Steve Luongo (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) went two-for-three at the plate with a double and three runs batted in, Kalejta hit one-for-two with a double, two runs and one RBI, Brad Duppstadt (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) was two-for-three with one run and one RBI, and Damien Jones (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) was two-for-two with three runs, two steals and one RBI.
