Ninth-Inning Rally Not Enough as Etown Falls to Messiah, 9-8

GRANTHAM, Pa. --- A five run outburst in the top of the ninth inning was not enough for Elizabethtown to regain lost ground as the Blue Jays fell on the road to Messiah, 9-8, Friday, in a Commonwealth Conference nine-inning game. Etown dropped to 9-5 overall and 3-3 in the conference, while Messiah improved to 11-7 overall and 5-3 in the Commonwealth.

Brad Duppstadt (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) led the Etown offense, going four-for-five with a home run, a double, two runs scored and two runs batted in. Jon Kalejta (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) went three-for-five with a double, two runs and one RBI, and Drew Kelley (York, PA/Dallastown) batted two-for-three with a run scored.

Elizabethtown will return to action as the host of Messiah in a doubleheader of conference seven inning games Saturday, April 5 at noon.
