Etown Improves to 4-0 in Conference With 8-2 Road Win Over Juniata

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 4-0 in the Commonwealth Conference and 8-4-1 overall with an 8-2 road win in a single nine-inning game against Juniata College Saturday. Juniata dropped to 11-7 overall and 5-2 in the conference with the loss.

Etown pitcher Drew Kelley (York, PA/Dallastown) started on the mound and went the full nine innings, allowing just two runs, one earned run, two walks and seven hits. Kelley also struck out seven batters en route to improving to 2-1 on the season.

The Blue Jays pounded out 12 hits against Juniata and benefited from six Juniata errors. By contrast, Etown committed just one error on the field. Seth Guida (Reading, PA/Exeter) cranked a home run, drove in four runs, scored two runs, and went 2-for-4 with a sacrifice fly at the plate. Jon Kalejta (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown) went 4-for-6 at the plate, scored two runs and drove in one for Etown. Mike Donahue (Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) hit 3-for-6 for Etown and scored one run.

Etown will return to action Saturday, March 26 at noon when it hosts Juniata for a doubleheader of seven-inning conference games.
