Elizabethtown Ties for Third in Spring Blue Jay Classic
HERSHEY, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown College golf team hosted the Spring Blue Jay Classic at the Hershey Country Club East Course on Thursday, finishing tied for third out of 15 teams with a score of 315.
First-year student Geoff Quinque (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) was the Blue Jays' top finisher with a season-best round of 76, followed by sophomore Kurt Amen (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) at 77 and junior Mike Wagner (Allentown, PA/William Allen) with an 80.
The Blue Jay "B" squad shot 335 and finished in 12th place, with first-year student Nick Iacono (Hockessin, DE/Sanford School) leading the team with a round of 78.
Susquehanna University shot 290 to win the team title, and Crusader senior Pat Serfass took medalist honors with a one-under-par round of 70. Franklin & Marshall College finished second at 305 with Dickinson College tied with Elizabethtown for third at 315.
