ETOWN PLACES SIXTH AT MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

SHAWNEE ON THE DELAWARE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown concluded the 2001 season Sunday by placing sixth out of fourteen teams at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships, which were hosted by King's College at Shawnee on the Delaware Country Club.

Elizabethtown shot 1023 over 54 holes at the two-day event. The Blue Jays scored 515 on the first day to put them in fifth place at the halfway point, and shot 508 on the second day. Freshman Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton) led Elizabethtown by shooting 248 for an average of 82.7 per 18-hole round. He finished 13th among individuals at the championships.
