Etown Places Third out of 19 Teams at Lebanon Valley Invitational

ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown recorded its lowest team score of the 2002 season Monday, totaling 318 as the Blue Jays finished third out of 19 teams at the Lebanon Valley College Invitational. Etown finished just 10 points behind the winning squad, the "A" team of NCAA Division II Millersville University, and just six points behind defending Middle Atlantic Conference champion Susquehanna University.

Etown sophomore Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton) had the lowest score for the Blue Jays, 75. This placed him in a tie for third overall and was his lowest score of the season thus far. Also, junior Chris Bowen-Ashwin (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and sophomore Kevin Bryner (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown) placed in a tie for 17th place with a score of 80 as Etown’s number two golfers for the match.

Elizabethtown returns to action Wednesday, April 10 as host of the spring 2002 Blue Jay Classic tournament, to be held at the Country Club of Hershey. The match is set to begin at noon.
