ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE GOLF Etown Finishes Fourth at MAC Championships; Charlie Haines and Chris Bowen-Ashwin Finish in Top Ten to Earn First Team All-Conference Honors SHAWNEE-ON-DELAWARE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown finished fourth out of 14 teams at the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday and Sunday, which were hosted by King's College at the Shawnee Country Club. The Blue Jays scored 967, while the winner, Susquehanna, totaled 924. For the first time in recent memory, Elizabethtown had two golfers finish among the top ten individuals to earn first team All-MAC honors. Junior Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton) placed fourth overall with a score of 233 over three rounds, and senior Chris Bowen-Ashwin (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) placed ninth with a three-round score of 237. Haines shot 76, 78 and 79 in his three rounds, and Bowen-Ashwin shot 79, 76 and 82. It was the first time either had won first-team all-conference honors. Also, Bobby Stiffler (Glen Rock, PA/Dallastown) finished 17th overall for the Blue Jays with a total score of 241 and round scores of 80, 80 and 81. at Shawnee Country Club, Shawnee-on-Delaware, Pa.
