Etown Finishes in Tie for Fifth at York Invitational

YORK, Pa. --- Elizabethtown opened its Spring 2004 season at the York Invitational Monday, and the Blue Jays finished in a tie for fifth place out of 11 teams with the College of New Jersey with 327 points each.

Etown's golfers had very consistent scores on the cold, wind-swept day, with Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton) and Bobby Stiffler (Glen Rock, PA/Dallastown) each pacing the team with scores of 81. Luke Hallam (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) shot 82 for Etown, Josh Hall (Dover, PA/Dover) finished with a score of 83, and first-year Bob Pyrz (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) shot 84.

Etown will return to action Thursday, March 25, at the Susquehanna University Tee-Off. The match is the makeup of last week's snowed out match.
