Etown Senior Charlie Haines Competes as Individual at District II Tournament, Places Second Overall

HERSHEY, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College senior Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton) competed as an individual at the District II Mid-Atlantic Invitational tournament Sunday, April 11 and Monday, April 12, and placed second in the individual standings. The invitational was hosted by the University of Rochester (NY) and was held at the Hershey (PA) Golf Club.

Haines shot 79 on the first day and 73 on the second day to post a total score of 152, tying him for second place overall with Ryan Zurowski of Allegheny College. Ben Rathfon of Allegheny was the top scorer with an overall score of 150.

Out of the 15 teams that had enough golfers competing to score as a team, Allegheny placed first.

Elizabethtown was to have competed at today's Alvernia Invitational, but that event was postponed by rain. Etown will compete next at Wednesday's Lebanon Valley Invitational in the make-up of a previously rained-out match.
