HELLER SCORES TWICE AS ETOWN BLANKS DELAWARE VALLEY FOR FIRST WIN OF '98 SEASON ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Denise Heller scored a pair of goals and set up the gamewinner to lead Elizabethtown past Delaware Valley, 3-0, in Middle Atlantic Conference action on Monday. With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 1-1 on the season. Mandi Ewing, who led the team with 11 goals in 1997, notched her first goal of the '98 season off a Heller assist only 2:25 into the game to give Etown a 1-0 lead. With 19:47 remaining in the first half, Heller scored off a penalty corner to make it 2-0. She added her third goal in two games off a pass from Tiffany Meusel with 20:38 remaining to close out the scoring. Blue Jay goalie Mandy Riley made six saves to record the first victory and shutout of her collegiate career. Danielle Rugg made 14 saves in the cage for the Aggies (1-2). Samantha Thomas registered a pair of shots to lead the visitors. The Blue Jays need only two more victories
for 400 in program history. Etown returns to action on Wednesday,
September 9 at Swarthmore College. Game time is 4 p.m.
