2-1 WIN OVER F&M GIVES ETOWN 400TH VICTORY IN PROGRAM HISTORY

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Mandi Ewing and Denise Heller scored first-half goals to lift Elizabethtown over Franklin & Marshall, 2-1, in regional action on Tuesday.  The win was the 400th in program history for Etown (3-5).

Kate VanValkenburgh continued her strong play in the Blue Jay cage, making eight saves to collect her second victory of the season, while teammate Tiffany Meusel chipped in with an assist.

Ewing put the Jays on the board with 14:33 remaining in the first half, scoring her fourth goal of the 1998 campaign.  Heller, who leads Etown with six goals, found the cage four and a half minutes later to give the guests a 2-0 edge.

Gen Moyer scored the lone goal for F&M early in the second half, but the Diplomats were held in check the rest of the way.

Etown returns to action on Monday, September 28 at Villa Julie College.  Game time is 4 p.m.
