ETOWN OFFENSE ERUPTS IN 9-0 WIN OVER WESTERN MARYLAND; MEUSEL LEADS CHARGE WITH FIRST CAREER HAT TRICKELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Tiffany Meusel scored her first career hat trick and added an assist to lead Elizabethtown past Western Maryland, 9-0, in non-league action on Tuesday. With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 7-7 on the season. The nine-goal outburst was Etown's highest-scoring effort since a 9-0 win over Dickinson on September 20, 1998. Emily Pitzer and Liz White also keyed the offense with two goals apiece. Also finding the cage for Blue Jays were Mandi Ewing and Melissa Mayette. The three-goal outburst from Meusel gives the junior forward seven goals in her last four games. Kate VanValkenburgh and Mandi Riley combined for the shutout. Jessica Horwath made 15 saves in the cage for Western Maryland (3-8), which dropped its sixth consecutive decision. Etown, which has won six of its last eight
games, returns to action on Thursday, October 15 at home against York College.
