PAIR OF SECOND HALF GOALS LIFT YORK OVER ETOWN, 3-1

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Jackie Russell scored her team-best 13th goal of the season to break a 1-1 tie and lift York to a 3-1 win over Elizabethtown in non-league action on Thursday.  With the loss, the Blue Jays fell to 7-8 on the season.

Melissa Mayette tallied the lone goal of the game for Etown off an assist from Beth Purcell.   The goal was Mayette's third in the last two games.

Kate Regar and Jamie Swartz also found the cage for the Spartans, who defeated the Blue Jays for the first time in program history.  Etown holds a 19-1-1 advantage in the all-time series.

Judy Frankel made seven saves to pick up the win for York (13-2).  Kate VanValkenburgh made seven saves in the Blue Jay cage.

Etown returns to action on Saturday, October 17 at home against Moravian College.  Game time is noon.
