EWING NOTCHES SECOND STRAIGHT HAT TRICK TO LIFT ETOWN OVER DICKINSON, 3-2; JAYS WIN FOR EIGHTH TIME IN LAST 11ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Mandi Ewing tallied her second hat trick in as many games to lead Elizabethtown over Dickinson, 3-2, in non-league action on Thursday. With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 10-8 and insured themselves of a winning 1998 season.Behind 1-0 at halftime, Etown got three goals from Ewing to win for the eighth time in the last 11 games. The Blue Jays also won for the first time in six tries this season when trailing at halftime. Denise Heller and Melissa Mayette picked up assists in the winning effort. The assist for Mayette allowed the freshman forward to extend her season-best point-scoring streak to five consecutive games. Ewing, who led the team with 11 goals in 1997, took over the team scoring lead with her three-goal effort. She now has 13 goals and six assists for a team-best 32 points this season. Kendra Shirley and Meg Kwasniak picked up goals for Dickinson (2-13) while goalie Sig Zitomersky made 19 saves in the Red Devil cage. Etown wraps up its 1998 campaign on Saturday,
October 24 at Wilkes University. Game time is 11 a.m.
