ETOWN OPENS SEASON WITH 1-0 VICTORY OVER DELAWARE VALLEY

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Blue Jays traveled to Delaware Valley for their 1999 season opener and won in a 1-0 shutout Monday.

The lone goal of the day came with 15:32 left in regulation time when Mandi Ewing (McClure, PA/West Snyder) netted a shot.  Emily Pitzer (Biglerville, PA/Biglerville) assisted the goal.

Goaltender Kate VanValkenburgh (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) earned the shutout, making six saves in the game.

The Blue Jays next game is at home Thursday, September 9 against Western Maryland.  Game time is 4:00 p.m.
