PETERS NETS HAT TRICK AS ETOWN OFFENSE AWAKENS TO DEFEAT GOUCHER, 4-1
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown's offense reversed its recent dry spell in scoring and shooting to defeat Goucher, 4-1, Saturday and return to the .500 mark overall. The Blue Jays (5-5) exploded for 26 shots, including 16 in the second half.
Freshman Stacy Peters (Millville PA/Central Columbia), one game after scoring her first collegiate goal, garnered her first career hat trick for the Blue Jays.
Beth Purcell (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) also scored for Elizabethtown. Goaltender Kate VanValkenburgh (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) continued her prowess in the goal, blocking 12 shots for Etown.
The Blue Jays return to action at home Monday, October 4 against Villa Julie. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
