ETOWN BLANKED BY LEBANON VALLEY, 4-0
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown got behind early against the nation's number one-ranked team and could not shorten the gap as the Blue Jays fell to Lebanon Valley, 4-0, Tuesday.
Lebanon Valley (11-0, 6-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half, outshooting Elizabethtown (6-9, 1-4) 10-5. Although Lebanon Valley made 11 shots in the second half, it only managed one goal. The Flying Dutchmen dominated play in the second half, allowing only one Elizabethtown shot.
Etown goaltender Kate VanValkenburgh (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) made 13 saves, while Lebanon Valley forward Lora Zimmerman scored two goals and Lisa Duke had two assists.
The Blue Jays return to action on the road against York Thursday, October 14. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
