BLUE JAYS BLAST JUNIATA, 3-0, HALT LOSING SKID
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown ended its four-game losing streak Saturday by defeating Juniata, 3-0. The Blue Jays are now 7-10 overall and 2-4 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Conference.
The first half was scoreless, although Elizabethtown outshot Juniata, 8-5. The deadlock was broken with 31:15 remaining in the second period, when Beth Purcell (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) netted a pass from Emily Pitzer (Biglerville, PA/Biglerville).
Etown went up 2-0 when Pitzer scored a goal of her own at 20:11, on an assist from Mandi Ewing (McClure, PA/West Snyder).
The final goal was scored with 3:06 remaining when Mindy Nace (Thompsontown, PA/East Juniata) scored on a pass from Ewing.
The Blue Jays return to action on the road Wednesday, October 20 against Albright. Game itme is 4:30 p.m.
