ETOWN STARTS SEASON WITH 1-0 WIN OVER SUNY-OSWEGO

STOWE, Vt. --- Elizabethtown began its season with a 1-0 victory over SUNY-Oswego in Stowe, Vt. Saturday.

Beth Purcell (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) scored the game's only goal for the Blue Jays (1-0), and Etown goaltender Kate VanValkenburgh (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) notched seven saves for her first shutout of the season.

Elizabethtown returns to action Saturday, September 9 on the road against Susquehanna. Game time is 11:00 a.m.
