ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown defeated Bridgewater (Va.) at home 7-0 Saturday to improve its overall record to 3-1. With the loss, Bridgewater falls to 1-4 overall.
Mandi Ewing (McClure, PA/West Snyder) scored the game's first goal unasssted just over 13 minutes after the start. Three more goals followed in the first half, including the first of the day for Mindy Nace (Thompsontown, PA/East Juniata), who also scored the game's last goal with 12 minutes remaining in the second half.
Emily Pitzer (Biglerville, PA/Biglerville) also had a big day on offense, assisting the last goal of the first half, scoring the first goal of the second half and assisting the next goal, which was scored by Brandy Espenshade (Grantville, PA/Lower Dauphin).
The Blue Jays outshot Bridgewater 46-1, and had 19 penalty corners to two for Bridgewater.
Etown returns to action on the road at cross-county rival Franklin and Marshall Monday, September 18. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
