ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 15-3 overall with a 6-0 win over Delaware Valley at home Thursday. With the loss, Delaware Valley falls to 5-12 overall.
Elizabethtown took a 4-0 lead into halftime on a hat trick by Brandy Espenshade (Grantville, PA/Lower Dauphin), who scored with 28:28, 26:21, and 8:47 left in the first half, and a goal by Beth Purcell (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) with 12:13 remaining. Mandi Ewing (McClure, PA/West Snyder) had three assists in the first half. M.E. Regan (Andover, NJ/Newton) and Kate Gwilliam (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) also had assists in the first half.
Ewing added a goal of her own at 7:57 unassisted, and Purcell scored her second goal of the game with 6:53 remaining to put the Blue Jays ahead 6-0.
Etown returns to action on the road against Wilkes Saturday, October 21. Game time is 11:00 a.m.
