Etown Blanks Franklin & Marshall, 2-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Mindy Nace (Thompsontown, PA/East Juniata) and Lisa Zbyszinski (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) each scored goals as Elizabethtown defeated local rival Franklin and Marshall 2-0 Wednesday. Elizabethtown improves to 2-1 overall with the win, while F&M falls to 1-4.

The goals, which both came in the first half, were assisted by Brandy Espenshade (Grantville, PA/Lower Dauphin) and Kate Gwilliam (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown), respectively.

Etown goaltender Kate VanValkenburgh (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) made eight saves in her first shutout of the season. F&M keeper Jenny Lindner (Northport, NY/Friends Academy) made 22 saves as the Blue Jays out-shot F&M 32-10.

Elizabethtown returns to action on the road against Albright Saturday, September 15. Game time is 11:00 a.m.
