Purcell Notches Hat Trick as Etown Cruises Past Goucher, 8-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 5-5 overall with an 8-0 win over Goucher at home Saturday.

Beth Purcell (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) led Elizabethtown in scoring with a hat trick, all three goals of which were compiled during the first half. She also posted one assist on the afternoon. Mindy Nace (Thompsontown, PA/East Juniata) tallied a pair of goals.

Also finding the back of the net for the Blue Jays included Denise Gannon (Spring Lake, NJ/Manasquan), Kate Gwilliam (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) and Samantha Stever (Coopersburg, PA/Southern Lehigh).

Lisa Marquette (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) made three saves in the goal in the second half for Etown to combine for the shutout with Kate VanValkenburgh (Malvern, PA/Great Valley), who did not need to make any stops.

Elizabethtown returns to action on the road against Widener Wednesday, October 3. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
