Etown Falls to Dickinson, 2-1, in Overtime

CARLISLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown dropped to 1-2 in 2003 with a 2-1 overtime road loss to Dickinson Wednesday.

A goal by Caroline Gouin gave Dickinson a 1-0 lead just 2:48 into the first half, and the host Red Devils controlled the pace of the game for much of the opening half as they out-shot the Blue Jays 14-2.

Etown regained its footing in the second half and out-shot Dickinson 6-2. A goal by Kate Gwilliam (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) just 4:30 before the end of regulation time tied the score at 1-1 and sent the game into overtime.

Kate Austin scored the game-winner for Dickinson 8:35 into overtime. Etown goaltender Lisa Marquette (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) made 15 saves for the Blue Jays, who were out-shot 18-8 over the course of the game.

Elizabethtown will return to action in its first home game of 2003 Saturday, September 6 at 1:00 p.m. against McDaniel.
