Etown Falls to Widener, 4-0, in Conference Opener

CHESTER, Pa. --- Elizabethtown traveled to Widener for its first Commonwealth Conference game of 2002 and fell to the host Pioneers 4-0. The Blue Jays drop to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference with the loss, while Widener improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the Commonwealth.

Widener out-shot Etown 25-17, and Etown goaltender Lisa Marquette (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) made 17 saves. Widener keeper Katie Heritage had five saves in the shutout, and Amy Koons scored a goal and had an assist for Widener.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Thursday, September 25 against Susquehanna in a 4:00 p.m. game.
