Etown Ends Losing Streak with 3-1 Win over Albright

READING, Pa. --- Elizabethtown halted a 10 game losing streak and improved to 2-10 overall and 1-2 in the Commonwealth Conference with a 3-1 road win over Albright Saturday.

Kelly Miller (Robesonia, PA/Conrad Weiser) scored the game's first goal 10:22 after the start unassisted for Etown. A Melanie Slessinger (Westminster, MD/North Carroll) goal, assisted by Whitney Brown (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central), at 29:52 gave the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

Albright cut the Etown lead to 2-1 with at 38:57 as Angela Gardner scored for the Lions. Etown's Traci Brenner (Conowingo, MD/Perryville) added an insurance goal off a Laura Rinck (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove) assist at 45:27 to seal the win.

Lisa Marquette (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) made five saves in the Blue Jay net as Etown out-shot Albright 17-8 over the course of the game.

Etown will return to action at home Monday, October 4 in a non-conference game against Delaware Valley at 4:00 p.m.
