ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE FIELD HOCKEY Susquehanna Stuns #17 Elizabethtown 3-2, in Commonwealth Conference Game SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- Nationally 17th-ranked Elizabethtown dropped to 11-4 overall and 3-3 in the Commonwealth Conference with a 3-2 road loss to Susquehanna University Thursday. Susquehanna improved to 9-6 overall and 5-1 in the conference with the win. Etown scored first as Brandy Spriggle (Beaver Springs, PA/West Snyder) scored off a Laura Rinck (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove) assist on a penalty corner 3:58 after the opening whistle. Susquehanna tied the game at 5:39 as Abby Dunlap scored of a Margaret Young assist, and the host Crusaders took a 2-1 lead into halftime when Katie Gallagher scored at 29:25 on a penalty stroke. Susquehanna went up 3-1 at 51:50 when Shelley Reppert scored on a Gallagher assist. Etown narrowed the gap to 3-2 with 1:18 left in the game when Spriggle scored again, this time off a Mel Slessinger (Westminster, MD/North Carroll) assist on another penalty corner. Etown held a 13-9 advantage in shots during the game. The Blue Jays will return to action Saturday, October 22 at Goucher College in a 1:00 p.m. non-conference game. Elizabethtown Coll.
