ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE FIELD HOCKEY View pictures of the game here. Elizabethtown Improves to 4-0 with 2-1 Win over McDaniel WESTMINSTER, Md. --- Elizabethtown College improved to 4-0 overall with a 2-1 road win Saturday over McDaniel College, which dropped to 1-2 overall with the loss.
McDaniel jumped out to a 1-0 lead 15:24 into the game as Jamie Nash scored for the Green Terror. It was the first goal Elizabethtown had surrendered all season. First-year student Brenna Noon (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) tied the game at 1-1 six minutes later with a goal for Etown off an assist by Brandy Spriggle (Beaver Springs, PA/West Snyder) on a penalty corner. It was Noon’s second goal in as many games, as well as Spriggle’s first assist of the season. The Blue Jays went ahead 2-1 at 23:57 into the game when Laura Rinck (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove Area) scored on a penalty stroke for her second goal of the season. Elizabethtown out-shot McDaniel 7-2 in the first half, and each team managed just one shot in the second half. The Blue Jays held an 11-5 edge in penalty corners. Blue Jay goaltender Kristen Callaghan (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) made two saves to preserve the win, while McDaniel goalie Erika Wawzyanick made five saves. Elizabethtown will return to action in its first home game of the 2006 season Wednesday, September 13 against DeSales University in a 4:30 p.m. contest. Elizabethtown Coll.
