Elizabethtown Defeats Albright 4-0

READING, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College, currently ranked 13th in the nation in NCAA Division III, won its Commonwealth Conference opener 4-0 on the road Saturday against Albright College. Etown improved to 7-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference with the win, while Albright dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the conference with the loss.

Brenna Noon '10 scored one goal.

Elizabethtown held a 26-13 advantage in shots and a 10-6 edge in penalty corners over the course of the game. Laura Rinck (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove Area) scored two goals and assisted another for Etown. Brenna Noon (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) scored one unassisted goal for the Blue Jays, and Brandy Spriggle (Beaver Springs, PA/West Snyder) scored one goal. Megan Angstadt (Oley, PA/Oley Valley) and Kelsey Diehl (North East, MD/Rising Sun) each had one assist. Goaltender Kristen Callaghan (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) made three saves in the Elizabethtown net to preserve the shutout.

Laura Rinck '07 scored once and had an assist.

Elizabethtown will return to action at home Wednesday, September 27 at 4:30 p.m. against nationally second-ranked Commonwealth Conference rival Messiah College.
