ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- Sophomore Katy Boone (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg) tallied the game-winning goal with 7:57 left in double overtime to lift 15th-ranked Elizabethtown College to a 3-2 victory over host Muhlenberg College in field hockey action on Saturday afternoon.

Boone deflected in a shot from sophomore Caitlin Smith (Haddonfield, NJ/Bishop Eustace Prep) to give the Blue Jays (2-0 overall) the win after junior Alison Duval (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) had forced overtime on a goal with 6:16 left in the second half.

Muhlenberg (1-1) opened the scoring with 11:25 left in the first half as Kelly Shetron tipped in a shot from Nikki Rhoads, but Elizabethtown evened the score at 1-1 less than two minutes later as junior Andrea Miles (Phoenix, MD/Notre Dame Prep) deflected home a shot by junior Tiffany Vogel (Annville, PA/Palmyra) for her first goal of the season.

The Mules regained the lead at 2-1 less than five minutes into the second half as Jillian Duffy corralled a loose ball and deposited it into the cage, but the Blue Jays battled back to tie on Duval's goal.

Elizabethtown finished with a 17-15 edge in shots, though Muhlenberg held a 9-2 advantage in overtime. The Mules took nine penalty corners compared to six by the Blue Jays, including four of the five awarded in overtime.

Sophomore Liz Hannegan (Lancaster, PA/McCaskey) earned her second win in as many starts by making eight saves in goal for the Blue Jays, while Michelle Consiglio tallied nine stops for the Mules.
