ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE FIELD HOCKEY Elizabethtown Edged by Franklin & Marshall ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Goals in each half helped Franklin & Marshall College to a 2-1 victory over 15th-ranked Elizabethtown College in non-conference field hockey action at Wolf Field on Wednesday afternoon. After the Diplomats (2-0 overall) went ahead 2-0 on goals by Pamela Cassidy in the first half and Brittany Carson in the second half, the Blue Jays (2-1 overall) pulled to within 2-1 as sophomore Katy Boone (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg) scored her second goal of the season off an assist by junior Megan Angstadt (Oley, PA/Oley Valley) with 5:24 remaining. Cassidy gave the Diplomats a 1-0 lead with 4:26 left in the first half as she knocked home a cross by Eileen O'Reilly. Franklin & Marshall extended its lead to 2-0 with 21:23 to play as Carson batted in a pass by Lindsay Solar. The Blue Jays finished with an 11-9 advantage in shots and took 15 penalty corners to five by the Diplomats. Sophomore Liz Hannegan (Lancaster, PA/McCaskey) made three saves in goal for Elizabethtown, while Jennifer Burdo made four stops for Franklin & Marshall.
