ETOWN DEFEATS MORAVIAN 83-75, BLUE JAYS NOW 10-3

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 10-2 overall and 4-2 in the Commonwealth Conference with an 83-75 road win over Moravian (3-10, 1-5).

Elizabethtown held a 39-30 lead at halftime, and the Blue Jays pulled out to an 18 point lead with 3:46 remaining on a layup by Jon English (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.).

Moravian came within five points of Etown at 1:12 to go when a layup by David Jordan made the score 78-73, but that was as close as the Greyhounds would get as Etown made six foul shots in the final 1:06.

Four Blue Jays hit double digits in scoring. Brian Loftus (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) led Etown with 21 points and four steals. He also handed out four assists. Ross Unruh (Denver, PA/Cocalico) scored 17, and Brian Marquette (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) had 11 points and six rebounds. English scored 10 points for Etown. Point guard Rocky Parise (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) had eight assists for the Blue Jays.

Jordan led Moravian with 23 points, and Ken Greb scored 15. Both had 12 rebounds for the Greyhounds.

Etown returns to action at home against Lancaster County rival Franklin and Marshall Thursday, January 18. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
