Etown Wins Commonwealth Conference Opener Over Lebanon Valley, 73-59

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA --- Elizabethtown won its first Commonwealth Conference game in commanding fashion Wednesday as the Blue Jays defeated Lebanon Valley 73-59.

The game was close through much of the first half, but Etown pulled ahead to a ten point lead by halftime and never looked back.

Bob Porambo (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) led the Blue Jays with 22 points and nine rebounds while shooting seven-for-ten from the field and six-for-seven from the foul line. Ross Unruh (Denver, PA/Cocalico) added 14 points and led the team with five assists. Other double-digit point scorers for Etown included Brian Loftus (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) and Matt Nikoloff (Grove City, PA/Grove City), who scored ten each.

Lebanon Valley's leading scorer was Steve Horst, who had 24 points.

Etown returns to action at home against Albright Saturday, December 2. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
