ETOWN UPENDS ALBRIGHT, 71-63,
IN KEY COMMONWEALTH GAME

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Commonwealth Conference this season with a 71-63 home win over Albright Saturday afternoon. With the loss Albright fell to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Albright was picked to finish second in the MAC preseason coach's poll while Etown was predicted to finish fifth.

Ross Unruh (Denver, PA/Cocalico) led the Blue Jays with 20 points while going seven for seven from the free throw line and snatching five steals. Junior Brian Marquette (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) sparked the Jays off the bench with a season-high 12 points . Matt Nikoloff (Grove City, PA/Grove City) was the remaining Etown player in double figures as he added 10 points on the afternoon.

Etown trailed by as many as 12 points with 13 minutes to go in the game, but rallied to take a 47-46 lead with 9 minutes left and never looked back.

Albright crept to within four points with under a minute to go, but a basket by Marquette and subsequent steal by Etown iced the game for the Jays.

Albright's leading scorer was Teron Buchanon with 14 points.

Etown returns to action on the road against Messiah Tuesday, December 5. Game time is 8:00 p.m.
