ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL Etown Falls in Second Straight Game for First Time in Three Years With 76-70 Loss to Moravian BETHTLEHEM, Pa. --- For the first time since January 2000, the Elizabethtown College men's basketball team lost its second game in a row with a 76-70 road loss to Commonwealth Conference rival Moravian Tuesday night. Etown drops to 7-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference with the loss, while Moravian improves to 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Elizabethtown carried a 34-29 lead into halftime after shooting 62.5% (15-for-24) from the field and holding Moravian to 28.1% (nine-for-32) shooting in the first half. The tables were turned in the second half, as Etown shot 48.0% (12-for-25) from the field in the second half, while Moravian shot 57.1% (16-for-28) from the field. Also, Etown shot 62.5% (15-for-24) from the free-throw line for the game, while Moravian shot 90.9% (20-for-22) in foul shooting. Moravian also canned six of 18 three-point attempts, while Etown made just one of six threes. Brandon Zaleski had one of the biggest games of his career for Moravian, scoring 32 points and pulling down 10 rebounds to lead the Greyhounds in both categories. Steve Weiler and Ken Greb were Moravian's other double-digit scorers with 15 and 10 points, respectively. Jon English (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Township), just named to the Commonwealth Conference weekly basketball honor roll, led Elizabethtown with 17 points and six rebounds. He shot eight-for-12 from the field. Chad Heller (New Holland, PA/Garden Spot) scored 10 points and had five rebounds for the Blue Jays, while Brian Loftus (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) and Ian Daecher (Lititz, PA/Warwick) both scored nine points and pulled down four rebounds. Daecher also led Etown with five steals and three assists.
