ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL Etown Defeats Susquehanna, 90-78 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown blew past Susquehanna, 90-78, at home Saturday to improve to 12-6 overall and 6-2 in the Commonwealth Conference, while Susquehanna, which was tied with Etown and Moravian for first place in the conference entering Saturday's game, fell to 11-7 overall and 5-3 in the conference. Moravian faces Lebanon Valley in a conference game today. Etown steamrolled Susquehanna in the opening minutes and before long held a 17-4 lead. By halftime, the Blue Jays had stretched their lead to 48-25. The final 12-point margin was the closest Susquehanna got to Etown at any point in the second half. Sophomore Jon Connor (Hershey, PA/Hershey) led five Etown players in double-figure scoring with a career-high performance of 23 points. He shot eight-for-11 from the field, three-for-six from three-point range, and four-for-four from the free throw line. Sophomore Kyle Conrad (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) added 12 points on a four-for-six performance from the field, one three-pointer, and a three-for-three performance from the free-throw line. Jon English (Haddonfield, PA/Haddon Twp.) and Greg Adams (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) added 11 points each, and Chad Heller (New Holland, PA/Garden Spot) added 10 points and had five assists. Ian Daecher (Lititz, PA/Warwick) led Etown with 10 rebounds while scoring six points. Chris Zimmerman led Susquehanna with 20 points, Nick Griffiths scored 14 points, and Tim Hurd added 13 points.
