ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL Etown Blows Out Moravian, 97-64, to Claim Share of Commonwealth Conference Lead; Kyle Conrad Scores Career High 24 Points ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Coming off the heels of an upset loss to Juniata Saturday, Elizabethtown bounced back in grand style Tuesday, blowing out Moravian 97-64 to claim a share of first place in the Commonwealth Conference with the visiting Greyhounds. The win was all the more impressive by the fact that on January 14, the first time the teams met this season, Moravian won 76-70. Etown improves to 14-7 overall and 8-3 in the conference with the victory, while Moravian drops to 15-7 overall and 8-3 in the Commonwealth. Elizabethtown stormed out to a 9-1 lead in the opening minutes and never looking back, carrying a formidable 51-25 lead into halftime. Sophomore guard Kyle Conrad (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) led Elizabethtown's offense with a career-high total of 24 points. Conrad never missed a shot the entire game, going six-for-six from the field, two-for-two from three-point range, and ten-for-ten from the free throw line. Chad Heller (New Holland, PA/Garden Spot), added 17 points and five rebounds for the Blue Jays, as he shot six-for-seven from the field, two-for-three from downtown, and three-for-four from the foul line. Andrew Flynn (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) added 16 points on five-for-six shooting from the field and six-for-eight shooting from the charity stripe, and he pulled down five rebounds. Brian Loftus (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) led Etown with four assists, and he added nine points. Steve Weiler led Moravian in scoring with 15 points, and Brandon Zaleski and Kevin Wyers added 12 and ten points, respectively. Moravian actually out-rebounded Etown 30-29, but the Greyhounds turned the ball over 19 times against just 11 turnovers for Etown. Elizabethtown also shot 62.0% (31-for-50) from the field for the game, while Moravian shot 40.0% (22-for-55) from the field for the game and just 27.3% (six-for-22) in the first half. Etown also got 28 points on 33 free throw attempts, while Moravian converted 15 of 19 foul shots.
