ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL Elizabethtown Stomps Conference Rival Susquehanna, 105-70 SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- Finally playing in its first road game of the 2002-03 season, Elizabethtown blew out host and Commonwealth Conference rival Susquehanna 105-70 Saturday to improve to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Susquehanna fell to 3-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference with the loss. The Blue Jays soared out to a 53-30 lead by halftime and had amassed a 15 point lead in the opening seven minutes of the game. Etown shot 52.1% from the field for the game and 60.0% from three-point range and 78.6% from the free throw line. Susquehanna shot 40.0% from the field and 58.8% from the free throw line. The Blue Jays also out-rebounded Susquehanna 46-32 and had 18 steals against 13 for the Crusaders. Jon English (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Township) led five Blue Jays who scored in double figures with 22 points, and he also paced the team with 14 rebounds. Chad Heller (New Holland, PA/Garden Spot) scored 21 points, went three-for-four from three-point range and led the team with five steals. Ian Daecher (Lititz, PA/Warwick) added 11 points for the Blue Jays, as did Jon Connor (Hershey, PA/Hershey), who came off the bench to sink four of six shots and two of three three-point attempts. Darryl Brown (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) added ten points and four assists to the Blue Jays' total from off the bench with a three-for-five performance from the field and a four-for-five total at the free throw line. Nick Griffiths and Bubba Mills were Susquehanna's leading scorers with 13 points each. Elizabethtown will return to action on the road at Scranton for an 8:00 p.m. game Saturday, December 14.
